As a mobile oncology concierge practice serving Fairfield and Westchester Counties, we bring testing, treatment, and palliative care directly to you and your beloved pet. Our boutique-style practice offers a unique solution, allowing cancer patients to receive blood work, urine testing, x-rays, additional testing, chemotherapy, and other cancer treatments in our state-of-the-art mobile suite without ever leaving home. This adds convenience and reduces anxiety and stress associated with traveling to a veterinary clinic or large hospital. We also offer medical and radiation oncology telemedicine consultations for clients seeking guidance for their pet’s cancer care.

For patients requiring frequent evaluations and/or treatments, our mobile service simplifies logistics, improving scheduling and enhancing the overall quality of life for pets and their families. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach, working closely with your family veterinarian or any other clinician/veterinary hospital involved in your pet’s care. This ensures a comprehensive and coordinated treatment plan.  At VCCS, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care tailored to your pet’s individual needs, ensuring comfort, convenience, and peace of mind every step of the way. Our service area covers a variety of locations in Connecticut and New York. This includes Fairfield County in Connecticut, encompassing Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Greenwich, Norwalk, Rowayton, Westport, Fairfield, Weston, and Wilton. In Westchester County, New York, we serve Scarsdale, Armonk, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, and Yonkers. Additionally, we reach Mount Kisco, Bedford Hills, Harrison, and Pound Ridge. While we cannot directly service New York City, we’re happy to meet at a convenient nearby location to examine and/or treat your pet.

Dr. Brooke Britton is a native New Yorker, growing up on Long Island and returning to New York City to reside after completion of her veterinary training. She obtained her veterinary degree at Cornell, and completed her residency in Medical Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Lindsay Thalheim

Dr. Lindsay Thalheim is a board-certified veterinary oncologist with extensive experience in treating pets with cancer. Her expertise and years in clinical practice have helped her appreciate the challenges pet owners encounter when their beloved companions are faced with daunting diagnoses. With unwavering compassion and dedication, Dr. Thalheim treats her patients’ complex diseases and guides owners through the journey, offering support and understanding every step of the way. From navigating a cancer diagnosis and concurrent symptoms to discussing therapy options and facilitating treatment, Dr. Thalheim is committed to providing comprehensive care and innovative solutions for pets and their families. Her overarching goal is to approach each case individually in the context of what is best for the pet and their families while achieving the best possible outcome and maintaining a good quality of life for every patient. 

Dr. Thalheim began her academic journey as a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Initially embarking on a career in finance, she soon discovered her true calling in veterinary medicine. After two post-baccalaureate years, during which she engaged in oncology research and developed a passion for the field and transitional medicine, Dr. Thalheim returned to the University of Pennsylvania for veterinary school. She continued her research while pursuing her degree, ultimately graduating in 2008. Following her veterinary education, Dr. Thalheim completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Minnesota, followed by a rigorous three-year residency in medical oncology at North Carolina State University. Her dedication and expertise culminated in successfully attaining board certification in oncology, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2013.

Dr. Thalheim’s professional journey encompasses a diverse range of roles in veterinary medicine. She has served as a Medical Oncologist at prestigious institutions such as Cornell University Veterinary Specialists and the Veterinary Cancer Center. In 2023, Dr. Thalheim established Veterinary Cancer Concierge Services, PLLC, where she currently serves as Founder and CEO, providing personalized oncology care for pets and their families. 

Dr. Thalheim’s commitment to advancing veterinary medicine extends beyond clinical practice. Dr. Thalheim has held leadership positions, including Director of Medical Operations at Instinct Science, where she played a pivotal role in enhancing medical content for veterinary practice management software. As adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of Oncology at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Thalheim has mentored future generations of veterinarians and contributed to advancing oncology education.

Dr. Thalheim’s contributions to veterinary oncology extend to research and academia. She has participated in numerous research projects on cancer treatment and presented her findings at prestigious conferences, including the ACVIM Forum and the Veterinary Cancer Society Conference. Dr. Thalheim’s commitment to research and advancing the field of veterinary oncology remains at the forefront of her mission. As a result, Veterinary Cancer Concierge Services actively engages in clinical trials and collaborates with colleagues at various institutions nationwide.

Dr. Thalheim holds licensure in both Connecticut and New York and is an active member of professional associations, including the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the Veterinary Cancer Society. Her dedication and contributions to the field have been recognized with awards such as the Veterinary Cancer Society Robert S. Brodey Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical Research Project in Oncology. Dr. Thalheim has authored several publications in esteemed journals, focusing on advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment in animals. 

Dr. Lindsay Thalheim’s passion for veterinary oncology, combined with her exceptional credentials and commitment to excellence, make her an authority in the field. Through her clinical expertise, research endeavors, and dedication to education, Dr. Thalheim continues to make significant contributions to the well-being of companion animals facing cancer.

Dr. Thalheim resides in Stamford, Connecticut, with her family. Outside work, she cherishes spending quality time with her husband and three children, their dog Haley, and her extended family and friends. She loves the outdoors, exploring new restaurants, and meeting new people.

Tara McNama is a seasoned Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with a profound dedication to animal care and welfare. With over two decades of experience in the veterinary field, Tara’s journey began in 2000, following her graduation from Fordham University with a degree in Finance/Economics. Determined to pursue her passion for animal medicine, Tara enrolled at Mercy College, where she obtained her degree in Veterinary Technology in 2003.

Throughout her career, Tara has acquired diverse experiences and specialties. She has been a licensed LVT since 2005, with extensive experience in general practice from 2000 to 2010, emergency medicine from 2010 to 2011, and oncology from 2011 to the present. Her dedication to providing high-quality care and her commitment to ongoing learning have made her a respected and valued member of the veterinary community.

In the summer of 2023, Tara joined Veterinary Cancer Concierge Services and assumed the role of Head Veterinary Technician. In this capacity, she oversees the administration of anticancer therapies on-site and leads and trains other technicians and assistants, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. Tara’s compassionate approach and dedication to her patient’s well-being make her an invaluable asset to the team as she strives for excellence and ensures that patients and their families are comfortable during their cancer care journey. Her unwavering commitment to providing the highest standard of care reflects her deep-rooted dedication to making a difference in the lives of her patients.

Born and raised in New Rochelle, NY, Tara now resides in Fairfield, CT, with her husband and their two sons. Their household is filled with love and companionship, shared with four cherished pets: Logan, a 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute; Charlotte May, an 11-year-old Chihuahua Mix; George Monkey, a 5-year-old DLH; and Birdie, a 6-year-old DLH.

Tara’s passion for working with animals has been a lifelong pursuit, stemming from her childhood dreams. She finds immense fulfillment in sharing her wealth of knowledge and insights with her colleagues, leveraging her experiences and continuing education to educate clients and enhance patient care.

In her spare time, Tara enjoys immersing herself in nature through hiking and beach outings and traveling to new destinations. She also values the opportunity to attend continuing education lectures, further enriching her expertise and staying up-to-date on the latest developments in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Brooke Britton

Dr. Brooke Britton is a native New Yorker, growing up on Long Island and returning to New York City to reside after completion of her veterinary training. She obtained her veterinary degree at Cornell, and completed her residency in Medical Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Britton has been in clinical practice as a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Oncology since 2012 in New York, New Jersey, and California, the majority of those years as Head of Service for the Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan Oncology departments of a large multi-specialty hospital network, where she was active in house officer training and clinical trials development. Dr. Britton joined the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center as a Senior Veterinarian in 2023 to further her passion for clinical practice, house officer training, and clinical research. She has lectured nationally, and is a peer-reviewed author, medical editor, and medical podcaster. While she provides comprehensive care for all cancer types, her particular interests lie in the treatment of hematologic malignancies, the use of small molecular inhibitor therapy and immunotherapy in veterinary cancer patients, and the multimodal treatment of metastatic cancers. Her practice philosophy is heavily quality-of-life-centered, while delivering the highest standard of oncologic care. Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Britton enjoys aerial fitness, forest bathing, travel, photography, and long strolls in NYC with her French Bulldog.

Dr. Kari Rosen

DVM, DACVR

Dr. Kari Rosen studied pre-veterinary medicine at the University of Delaware and, in 2005, went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a rotating internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in NJ, followed by her residency in Radiation Oncology from the New England Veterinary Oncology Group in MA. Dr. Rosen attained Diplomate status from the American College of Veterinary Radiology, subspecialty Radiation Oncology, in 2010. She has co-authored scientific journals, provided local lectures for continuing education, has served on the Veterinary Radiation Oncology Examination Committee, and is a member of several state and national veterinary organizations. She specializes in stereotactic radiation for brain, nasal, and bone tumors, and has ample experience with IMRT, VMAT, 3DCRT, and palliative care. Her passion for oncology stems from her innate love of animals and desire to inspire hope in the families of her patients. Outside of work she enjoys music, reading, yoga, hiking, camping, traveling, and soaking up all the love she shares with her husband and two adorable kids.
